1. How many spells can I learn?
a. Wizard Wands
Your wand has a total of eighteen different spells, sixteen of which the dragon will teach you. Four of these are unique to your dragon and not available to other dragons. Two spells are hidden, Flying Monkeys and Zombie Hoard. See the spell book that came with your wand for details on each spell.
b. Fairy Wands
Your wand has a total of sixteen different spells, fourteen of which the fairy will teach you. Three of these are unique to your fairy and are not available to the other fairies. Two spells are hidden, Pigs Fly and Garden Gnome. See the spell book that came with your wand for details on each spell.

2. How do I recharge the battery?
a. Wands only
The battery in the wand can be recharged with the USB charging cable that was included with your wand. This may take about two hours to recharge depending on the level and age of the battery. Do not leave your wand plugged in overnight. The battery in the wand is not replaceable. Do not attempt to remove it. Please see the Instruction Sheet that came with your wand for details.

3. How do I get a spell to work?
a. All wands
There are several things that make it difficult sometimes to cast a spell. The motion of the flick and swish has to be correct. If it is too hard or too soft, it may not be counted correctly. Wait until the dragon or fairy stops speaking or the animation finishes before you start a new spell. And lastly, practice, practice, practice! You will master it young wizard, keep trying. See the spell book that came with your wand for details on each spell.

4. How do I go on an adventure or quest?
a. Wizard Wands
There are five time jumps to explore on your wand. The dragon will ask you if you would like to go travel through time. Flick once for “yes”. Each wand has two unique time jumps not found in the other wands.
b. Fairy Wands
There are five quests to explore on your wand. The fairy will ask you if you would like to go on a quest. Flick once for “yes”. Each wand has two unique adventures not found in the other wands.

5. Why is my wand so dizzy?
a. All wands
The wand will get dizzy and may even throw up if it shaken to much or the number of “flicks” and “swishes” exceed the total needed to cast a spell. Movement in directions that are not “flicks” and “swishes” can also make your wand character dizzy.

6. Why does my wand think the lights went out?
a. All wands
Your wand has a light sensor that detects changes in light. In some rooms the light level is very low. Even minor changes are detected and the dragon or fairy thinks the lights went out or their eyes were covered. Try your wand in a brighter room.

7. How does my wand “Battle”?
a. Wizard Wands
Only the boys’ wands battle, and only with the wizards in the Wizard Towers. Towers are sold separately. Be sure the Wizard Tower is turned on and active. Now cast the Spiders spell, “swish-flick-flick-flick”. The spell animation will play in the wand and in the tower. When the animation in the tower ends the wizard will challenge you to a battle. Flick your wand once for “yes”. The wizard will now instruct you to cast the Lightning Bolt, Ice Storm, or Stone Petrify spell, “Three, two, one, cast!”. Make your choice, cast the spell, and be quick about it. The wizard will do the same. Not knowing what each has cast, the outcome will be played out on the tower view screen. The wizard will announce the winner. If there is a tie he will ask you to cast again. If a spell is not cast or the magic not received the wizard will return to normal play. 8. Do I need to turn my wand off every time I play with it?
a. All wands
No you do not need to turn off your wand. It is better if you don’t. The wand will know when it is set down and go to sleep on its own after approximately three minutes to save the battery power. Simply picking up the wand will wake it from sleep.

9. How do I recharge the battery in the Pixie House/ Wizard Tower?
a. All Pixie Houses and Wizard Towers
The batteries in the house or tower are not rechargeable. When the batteries are low replace them with three fresh AAA Alkaline batteries. Be sure to use all new batteries and not mix old with new. Check the polarity to be sure the batteries are installed correctly. Be sure to dispose of the used batteries properly. Please see the Instruction Sheet that came with your house or tower for details.

10. How do I get the spell to go to my Pixie House or Wizard Tower?
a. All Houses and Towers
After casting the spell, point the wand at Pixie house or Wizard Tower, hold it there for a few seconds. The light should come on in the top of the house or tower and a new animation in the house or tower should start. This should work at a distance of approximately nine feet. You can move a little closer, it may help. If the room is full of bright sunlight try a different location. Sunlight can interfere with the magic.

11. How do I turn on the nightlight in my Pixie House or Wizard Tower?
a. All Houses and Towers
Without using a wand, you can turn on the nightlight in your Pixie House or Wizard Tower by pressing the play button three times very quickly. The light in the top of the house or the gem at the top of the tower will glow for approximately seven minutes. The light will go off by itself or can be turned off by pressing the play button.
Using a wand, cast the Firefly spell in the Fairy Wand. The pixie will go to bed, turning on the nightlight. Cast the Fireball spell in the Dragon Wand. The Fireball spell will play in the Wizard Tower, turning on the nightlight. The nightlight will glow for seven minutes. The light will go off by itself or can be turned off by pressing the play button.

12. How do I reset my wand?
a. Your wand may need to be reset at some point. Simply turn it off, count to ten and turn it back on again.
